December 14th - 2012

It's been a few years since Ruth passed...

All her sons continue to carry her within them, as do her other kith and kin.

Mummy's boy

As you can see in the picture, I was Mummy's boy; I'm pretty sure I'll always be!

I do miss Ruth so much, especially of late. It is very difficult to lose a mother but "salt is rubbed into the wound" when the loss of a friend, a confidant and a mentor is combined. That's what Ruth was/is to me.

I doubt I'll ever find another to take her place, but hey, I'm trying; the ones I find just aren't cuddly enough... :)

Ruth has passed

Unfortunately, our Dear Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Niece, Auntie and Friend has passed.
I will continue to post to this blog, however it will be sporadic.
I encourage you all to do the same.

With any luck (more likely good management and intent), we will all be able to do honour to Ruth's memory.
It is very important for me to keep hope alive and Ruth's Progress is the best way I can think to do so.

The photo above is obviously quite old; I believe it was taken during one of our trips to Perth - perhaps someone can be more enlightening? Suffice to say that it is a picture of Ruth and the collective "the boys", as Bruce Uren so eloquently suggested. One thing is for sure, that Mum certainly loved us all then and continues to...

FYI: The order, from left is Michael, James, Ruth - Kim (baby) & Tom.

Ruth's Progress

It's the first day of spring and I am making some soup for Ruth - I know - that's what you are supposed to do mid winter. But it is raining after all.
No other news other than Ruth sounded really positive and happy yesterday. Jill and Robert were there (Jill's Robert and Ruth's Robert!).
Bye for now. Jen xx

Ruth's Progress

Ruth is having a core biopsy tomorrow morning (Tuesday 29th 8.30am) then is off to Porgy and Bess at His Majesty's in the evening.
Chemo is Wednesday, I think. Thanks for supporting this idea and thanks to Kim for getting it up and running so quickly.
Love to all,
Jenny.

Pre chemo misbehaviour

This is the photo Ruth didn't want the Doctor to see !!!

We celebrated Ben's 16th birthday recently and found Ruth in the kitchen horrified by the technical difficulties encountered in filling her wine glass. Fortunately we sorted this out and the image bespeaks a thousand words.

First Entry: Monday 28/08/2006

This is the first entry in the blog.
It is mereley an example of how to post.
The picture is not all that flattering but it'll do as an example.
